Residents’ Associations play a crucial role in fostering a sense of community and advocating for the needs and interests of local residents.
Advocacy and Representation: SEDRA aims to ensure that residents have “a seat at the table” to represent the community’s concerns and interests to local government, developers, and other groups.
Community Engagement: By becoming a member of SEDRA, you’ll hear from us about local issues, developments, and opportunities for engagement. Together, we can combine efforts and resources to make a more significant impact in our community.
Resource Sharing: SEDRA is a hub for information and resources and we aim to send out both quarterly newsletters as well as periodic emails with calls to action to attend Community Consultations, local events, AGMs, and more.

A Short History
1965 – 1981 – SERA (South Eglinton Ratepayers’ Association)
1981 – 2022 – SERRA (South Eglinton Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Association)
2022 – present – SEDRA (South Eglinton Davisville Residents’ Association)
The SERRA name represented a rich history of activity in our neighbourhood of over 50 years. Proposing a change to this name in 2022 took a lot of thought, feedback, and research. Looking forward as our neighbourhood grows and evolves, we wanted the name of our organization to clearly define who we are, where we operate, and for whom we advocate.
In January 2022, a motion was presented at our AGM, and SERRA became SEDRA.
The new name is a nod to our history (South Eglinton), removes the reference to ‘Ratepayers,’ and connects the north and south parts of the neighbourhood by adding ‘Davisville’ to refine the scope of what’s meant by ‘South Eglinton.’
